Ode to the World Peace
A Sonnet by Sappho
My grand World Peace, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you heighten and heighten,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the wet rocks.
Let me compare you to an ideal?
You are more tactile, giving and free.
Snow chills the berries of January,
And wintertime has the acorn.
How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your slimy grit and longing.
Thinking of your chalky nooks fills my days.
My love for you is the cocky twanging.
Now I must away with a gawky heart,
Remember my big words whilst we’re apart.
